How to Create Artwork
Creating artwork online is an easy step-by-step process.
You will need a copy of your logo (if required) as a PDF or JPG file. PDF format is usually preferable as this will allow you to use vector-based artwork with transparency. The JPG format does not support transparency, so JPG logos will always appear in a solid box.
At any stage in the process, you can go back to an earlier step with the 'Back' button (do not user the Browser 'Back' control). Use the 'Next' button to proceed to the next step.
Adapt
The first step allows you to adapt from a previous artwork, which copies all design, colour, logo and text information from that artwork into your new artwork, then allows you to modify them.

Design
The next step is to select a design. The design defines the layout, background pattern and typeface of you artwork.

Colours
Next you must select a background and text colour. Click 'change' to select either the text or background colour, then user the colour picker to choose a colour. The colour picker will depend on your colour format.

CMYK picker
The CMYK picker allows you to select a basic colour from the colour palette, then adjust this with the tint control (which lightens or 'pastelises' the colour) and the darkness control (which darkens the colour by adding black). If you require black, set tint to 0% and darkness to 100%. For white, set both tint and darkness to 0%. The actual CMYK values are displayed under the tint and darkness controls. When you have selected the colour you require, click 'Apply' to save it as either background or text colour depending on which is selected).

Pantone picker
The Pantone picker allows you to select an ink from the standard Pantone CMS library. You can also pick black or white (note that, as white does not normally require an ink, you can use two non-white colours here and still specify white for text areas in the next screen).

Logos
This screen allows you to assign logos to the predefined logo areas of the layout. You will be able to select any logos you have previously uploaded, or else upload new ones. Logos must be either PDF or JPEG format; we recommend PDF wherever possible (see above).

Text
Here you can enter text such as address/contact details, slogan etc. The fields relate to predefined text areas on the layout.

Preview
This screen gives you a PDF preview of your artwork. It appears with a Folders4U watermark for security reasons, however please note this will not appear on your final printed folder. You can open the PDF for a larger preview by clicking the 'Enlarged Preview' link.

Save
The final step enables you to save your file under a filename of your choice. If you choose an existing filename, your previous file will be overwritten. Click the 'Save artwork' button to save your artwork and proceed to the shopping basket.
